Due to inclement winter weather, all ministry meetings (including RE) on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, are cancelled. The Adoration Chapel will not have the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the weekend, either. Masses will proceed as scheduled and will be livestreamed. It is important to remember that while the Church requires all the faithful to attend Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of obligation, this obligation does not apply in grave situations like severe inclement weather that makes travel exceedingly dangerous. Putting ourselves at risk on dangerous roads also puts other drivers and first responders at risk. If the weather this weekend does not permit your safe travel to and from the parish the law of the Church dispenses your obligation to attend Mass (CIC 1248 §2) and recommends that you spend an appropriate time in prayer, whether personally or as a family. January 25th is Called by Name Sunday, an initiative of the Diocese of Austin Vocations Office that celebrates God’s call to each of us to follow Him in a particular way. At every parish in the diocese, our priests will share the story of their vocation to the priesthood - how they listened and responded to God’s call. This Tuesday, December 2, all the priests in the Diocese of Austin will be at the Advent day of Prayer and Reflection. Instead of a Mass, we will have a communion service at noon. On Wednesday, November 25, St. Albert is hosting a Thanksgiving meal—Feast of Grace—for parishioners and neighbors who are currently without a home, unable to provide a Thanksgiving meal for themselves or their family, or who will be alone for Thanksgiving. The meal will be in Seton Center from noon to 3 pm. There will be plenty of turkey, sides & desserts, fellowship & gratitude as we celebrate Thanksgiving together.

In preparing for Christmas for our neighbors in need we ask for your help in giving a gift card to help them provide a gift and meal for their family. We will have our Christmas Giving Tree set up in the Narthex, hung with envelopes and instructions for a needy family for you to take and return with a gift card (include a gift receipt), starting Nov 8 & 9. Table of Remembrance During the month of November our dearly departed loved ones will be remembered at all Masses celebrated at St. Albert the Great. You are invited to place a framed photo of your deceased loved one on the Table of Remembrance in the baptistery. Write their name in the Book of the Names of the Dead and place a flower near the photo. If you would like your photo returned please write your contact information on the back. Our old rectory in the Scofield neighborhood has been listed for sale. We will hold an open house on October 18, 12 pm to 2:30 pm, at 1800 Montana Sky, Austin, TX. 78727. The proceeds will go towards building a new rectory off of Bittern Hallow.
