As we continue this Easter season we reflect on how Jesus performed many miracles of healing. With each healing, people were set free, became who God made them to be, and their insatiable thirst was quenched. That same gift of healing is available to us today. Do we understand our woundedness? Do we know how to bring our wounds to Jesus? This Easter we explore healing. We begin our healing journey by turning to Jesus and “Rising from the tomb”. Then we learn to surrender our doubts because “Believing is Healing”. The next three topics, “Healing the Body”, Healing the Mind”, and “Healing the Spirit”, open us to the promise of restoration, reveal the lies that interfere, and speak to the power of intercessory prayer. On our journey of healing, we are reminded that our Church is the hospital of the soul and a source of “Heavenly Peace”. We conclude our series “Finding healing in transitions” where we review the power of community to heal.
Jesus said to his disciples: "“Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me. “I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe"”. Jesus desires to give us peace and as we go to church we are going to the hospital for our soul.
I invite you to prepare to attend the priesthood ordination for Dcn Kingsley from St. Albert the Great on Saturday, June 14th at 10:30 AM at St. William in Round Rock. Deacon Michael Rhodes who will be a new priest assigned to St. Albert the Great on July 1st will also be ordained that day so it will be a double reason to attend the priesthood ordination. Then on Sunday, June 15th there will be a special mass of thanksgiving and multicultural mass for then Fr. Kingsley at the 10 AM mass. All are welcome to wear attire from their culture and to bring a dish from your culture to share with others at the multicultural reception after the mass. One of the HVAC units inside the church has malfunctioned during my entire time at St. Albert the Great. There has been a detailed examination to understand why. The summary of that examination can be found here: https://saintalbert.org/facility-updates Based on that recommendation, we are replacing the HVAC system on the ambo/Mary side of the church. More detailed information at the website link.
This Easter let us pray for God to grant us peace,
