Tenemos algunas noticias tristes para compartir. El Padre John Kim será asignado como pastor de St. Mary en Taylor a partir del 5 de julio de 2022. El Padre Rito Davilla, que está actualmente en St. Anthony en Kyle, será nuestro nuevo vicario parroquial a partir del 5 de julio de 2022. Este movimiento fue de última hora, ya que el plan era que el Padre John estuviera aquí un año más. El obispo Vásquez le informó al Padre John del cambio el lunes antes de partir hacia Corea del Sur. El Padre John se encuentra actualmente en Corea del Sur y estará por un mes para visitar a su padre y su familia allí.

Desafortunadamente, el Padre Michael O'Connor, pastor de Santo Tomás More, está muy grave tiene cáncer y tuvo que renunciar como pastor de Santo Tomás More debido a su salud. El Padre Keith Koehl, quien es el actual pastor de St. Mary en Taylor, se convertirá en el nuevo pastor de Santo Tomás More y el Obispo Vásquez quiere que el Padre John Kim se convierta en el pastor de St. Mary en Taylor.

Ni al Padre John ni a mí nos gusta que esto tenga que suceder, pero ambos lo aceptamos y sentimos que es la voluntad de Dios dadas las circunstancias. Si desea escribir al Obispo Vásquez, por favor escriba expresando su gratitud porque dejó que el Padre John se quedará en San Alberto por dos años. Ha habido varias ocasiones en las que el Obispo Vásquez pudo haber trasladado al Padre John antes debido a las necesidades en la Diócesis, pero dejó al Padre John en San Alberto Magno por dos años completos, por lo que estoy agradecido.

Tendremos una fiesta de despedida para el Padre John el domingo 3 de julio a las 3:30pm ya que el fin de semana de julio 2 y 3 será el último del Padre John en la parroquia. Extrañaremos al Padre John, pero hemos tenido la bendición de tenerlo en San Alberto Magno por dos años. I have some sad news to share. Fr. John Kim will be assigned as the pastor of St. Mary in Taylor effective July 5, 2022. Fr. Rito Davilla, currently at St. Anthony in Kyle, will be our new parochial vicar effective July 5th, 2022. This move was a last minute one since the plan was for Fr. John to be here one more year. Fr. John was told by Bishop Vasquez of the move the Monday before he left for South Korea. Fr. John is presently in South Korea for a month to visit his father and family there.  Unfortunately, Fr. Michael O'Connor, pastor of St. Thomas More, has very serious cancer and had to resign as pastor of St. Thomas More due to health. Fr. Keith Koehl who is the current pastor of St. Mary in Taylor will become the new pastor of St. Thomas More and Bishop Vasquez wanted Fr. John Kim to become the pastor of St. Mary in Taylor. Neither Fr. John nor I like that this has to happen but both of us accept it and feel that it is God's will given the circumstances. If you want to write to Bishop Vasquez please write expressing your gratitude that he let Fr. John stay at St. Albert for two years. There have been multiple times when Bishop Vasquez could have moved Fr. John earlier due to needs in the Diocese but he left Fr. John at St. Albert the Great for a full two years for which I am grateful.  We will have a going away party for Fr. John on Sunday, July 3rd at 3:30 PM since July 2/3 will be Fr. John’s last weekend at the parish. We will miss Fr. John but have been blessed to have him at St. Albert the Great. Blessings, Father Charlie Garza

May 29 is the 12th ordination anniversary for Father Charlie and Father John! Be sure to congratulate Father Charlie after Mass this weekend! (FYI: Father John is still traveling in South Korea)

Mark your calendars! The Sunday 11:45 AM Mass time will change to 12:00 PM starting on Sunday, June 5. This change will allow for more time between Masses and help to relieve crowding in our parking lot.

The parish office will be closed on Sunday, 5/29 and Monday, 5/30, in observance of the Memorial Day. La oficina parroquial estará cerradas el Domingo, 29 de Mayo y y Lunes, 30 de Mayo en observancia de Memorial Day.
