Blessing of The Animals October 4 is the memorial of St. Francis of Assisi, who is known as the patron saint of all God's creations. We will have a pet blessing after the 9:30AM First Saturday Mass in the courtyard on Saturday, October 4. Please have all pets on a leash, in a cage or carrier, so that they can be kept safe. All God’s creatures great and small are welcome! St. Francis of Assisi pray for us! BENDICIÓN DE LAS MASCOTAS El 4 de octubre es la conmemoración de San Francisco de Asís, conocido como el santo patrón de todas las criaturas de Dios. Tendremos una bendición de mascotas después de la misa del primer sábado a las 9:30 a. m. en el patio el sábado 4 de octubre. Por favor, traigan a todas las mascotas con correa, en una jaula o transportín, para que puedan estar seguras. ¡Todas las criaturas de Dios, grandes y pequeñas, son bienvenidas! ¡San Francisco de Asís, ruega por nosotros!

Fr. Red is participating in the Friends of the Poor Walk and is trying to raise $2000! He writes,

Today, Tuesday, September 16 is Fr. Red’s birthday! Be sure to wish him well after Mass! ¡Hoy, El martes 16 de septiembre, es el cumpleaños del padre Red! ¡No olviden felicitarlo cuando lo vean después de la misa!

In order for all clergy to attend the events surrounding the installation of Bishop Daniel Garcia there will be no confessions, no Mass, and no communion services here at the parish on Wednesday. September 17th and Thursday, September 18th. Our regular schedule will resume on Friday, September 19th. Para que todo el clero pueda asistir a los eventos relacionados con la toma de posesión del obispo Daniel García, no habrá confesiones, misas, ni servicios de comunión en la parroquia el miércoles 17 y el jueves 18 de septiembre. Venturing Crew 3 is a ministry of St. Albert, a co-ed, high-adventure branch of Scouting America for ages 14-20. Their crew focuses on adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. They have events scheduled this fall that include hiking, adoration, kayaking, camping, backpacking, and rock climbing. You can find them outside in forest green shirts to get more information.

September is Suicide Awareness Month.  On Saturday September 13 at 9am we will have a special Mass to remember, heal from, and commend to God those who have taken their own life.  Under the patronage of Our Lady of Lourdes, we will implore the intercession of the Mother of God to intercede on our behalf for our loved one who has died.  We will pray for each one by name during the Mass.  If you would like to have your loved one remembered please submit the name by 12 noon on Friday September 12 to Chaplain Debbie at [email protected].

Good news! We now have three priests at many of our confession times. A third confessional has been set up on the left side of the reservation chapel behind the altar. A confessional candle is on a table near the door to indicate when the priest is in the confessional hearing confessions. Sit in the front pew of the section nearest the door to the reservation chapel to wait for confession at this new confessional. A sign identifying the priest and the languages in which he can hear confessions is located on the door of each confessional.

Discipleship U starts on Sept. 10th and 11th. We are offering two classes this Fall: Exodus - a deep dive into the Book of Exodus and Catholic Social Teachings - An Exploration of the Social Teachings of the Church. Exodus offers a Wednesday morning and a Thursday evening class. Catholic Social Teachings will be on Thursday evenings. Learn something new this Fall, grow deeper in your knowledge in Scripture and Tradition, and discover the foundations of your faith at DU! All classes are free!
