The Emiliani Project is a nonprofit organization inspired by the life and witness of Saint Jerome Emiliani, the patron saint of orphaned and abandoned children. Their mission is to rescue, feed, nurture, protect, and educate abandoned children by providing housing, nutritious meals, formal education, counseling, and a loving environment. Their first project is currently underway in Medellin, Colombia, in partnership with the Catholic organization Genie Unida, led by Father Jorge Villalobos of the Archdiocese of Medellin. After nine years of dedicated construction, they proudly opened a children’s home and school in July 2023, where they are actively caring for children in need. Deacon Charles Navarrete, one of the founding members of The Emiliani Project, will be coming to our parish on the weekend of August 22-23.
Did you know that in just a few hours on a Saturday, you can help provide nutritious food boxes for 1200 people?
Each of us is called to share in the responsibility of caring for our neighbors. Come join our great group of volunteers who make a difference each month at the SVDP Food Pantry on Braker Lane, where we put our faith into action. Contact MaryAnne Longenecker at [email protected] or Karen Carrizales at [email protected] for information on how to volunteer.
We are happy to welcome the new members who have recently joined our Pastoral Council!
Our new members are Mark Pustka, Jay Finley, Stephanie Mayes, Nina Loehr, Adriana Garcia, and Vera Cruz. They join our current Pastoral Council: Fr. Red (President), Andy Lynch (Vice President), Adriana Hernandez (Recorder), Jose Gonzalez, Kendra Wheeler, and Audry Bock. These members represent our parish. If you have feedback or topics you’d like the council to discuss, please talk to any member or email [email protected].
